What you'll learn.

Pediatric-specific CPR and first aid — what to do when the patient is small.

Infant CPR (under 1 year)
Two-thumb encircling technique, gentle rescue breaths, AED with pediatric pads.

Child CPR (1 to puberty)
One- or two-hand compressions, age-appropriate AED use, rescue breathing.

Back blows + abdominal thrusts for children, infant-specific maneuvers.

Pediatric First Aid
Fevers, allergic reactions, asthma, seizures, head injuries, fractures, burns, bleeding control — child-specific.

Is this the right course for daycare workers?

Yes. Florida DCF licensing requires AHA Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR/AED for childcare staff. This course is the exact one they're asking for.

What's the difference from regular Heartsaver?

Regular Heartsaver covers adult, child, and infant CPR equally. Pediatric Heartsaver focuses heavily on infant and child techniques and pediatric-specific first aid scenarios. Pick this one if your role is centered on kids.

How long is the card valid?

2 years. We'll send a renewal reminder before yours expires.
